new chapter, new blog. Farewell.

Oh hello there.
Sooo.... I feel like I am beginning a new part of my life. Maybe this is like the end of an era or something. Or maybe I'm being dramatic. I don't know.
Either way, I just don't feel connected to this blog anymore. (Not that I was ever a dedicated blogger to begin with).
I feel that I've gone through a lot of changes in the last year and some big things are continuing to change in my life. So, I decided to document it somewhere else.
Basically it will be me trying to figure out life in my 20's... so, it'll be pretty uneventful then!
It will be a lot more open and honest and I feel like it will better reflect who I really am. Some people might not like it. Oh well. I'm over it.
Of course it'll be full of insta pics, music, books, my oh-so-wise epiphanies about life and whatever the heck else I feel like I wanna say.
So goodbye to this little sad attempt at a blog. It's been real.

So here's the new one. Check it out, yo. http://ramblingsfromchelsey.blogspot.com/

Loves and more loves,
chels.

i see a great summer in my future (music rambles)

Okay, one awesome perk of living in good ol' Utah, and something I look forward to every summer, is the Twilight Concert Series.
First of all, you can't beat an outdoor concert on a summer evening with friends.
Second of all, each show is $5. Yeah, that's right, $5.
Third, they always have at least a couple really good bands. For example, in the past I have seen Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Band of Horses, Iron & Wine... see what I mean? They're like, amazing bands.
But this year, they have certainly out done themselves. I was almost in tears when I saw the line-up. This summer I get the pleasure of seeing the following bands LIVE.

Belle & Sebastian
Blitzen Trapper
Youth Lagoon
Grizzly Bear
MGMT
Sharon Van Etten
and..
wait for it...
wait....
THE NATIONAL.
One of my all time favorite bands. I can die happy now.

And this lovely concert season begins this Tuesday with Daughter.

welcome to adulthood.

Oh, hey there. It's been... a while.
I have officially GRADUATED college. What?! Holy freakin' balls. I am now officially certified to teach young children! What a scary thought. Now, onto finding a real job.
Oh, job hunting.. I hate it. More than almost anything in my whole entire life. Like, seriously. Way too much pressure.
I also turned 23. Yep, 23. Two years away from 25. 7 years away from 30. Am I too young to be freaking out about this? I'm trying to be optimistic, I swear. There's just so much I want to do and it just seems like there's not enough time!
Yep, growing up sucks.

The lovely (& heart-wrenching) goodbye's from my students

Graduation celebrations

birthday celebrations.. I have the best friends EVER.

Lovely tunes

So lately I've been like really into instrumental, ambient type music. I promise you, it's lovely. And sometimes sexy. And it gives you some good feels. And it's good bedtime and study music.
Anyway, there's this fun website named 8tracks.com and I've found loads of good music on there (even if you have limited skips). I made a mix on there, so totes go check it out yo.

Hello, old friend.

lovely things my students give me.

Ed Sheeran concert. Words can't describe how amazingly talented this guy is.

Valentine's from my students. One perk of being a teacher: I'll always get Valentine's.

Hello, blogging world...
This poor little blog has been seriously neglected... and seriously needs a make over. I have been MIA for the last few months because my life has been consumed by student teaching.
Student teaching. The home stretch. Just 2 more months to graduation.
This has been the hardest few months of my whole academic career, and probably my whole life. I am busy from 8 am to 10 pm almost everyday. Juggling full-time teaching, school/homework, and a part-time job is no picnic. February has especially been a struggle for me. I have never felt so physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted. There are times I find myself counting down the weeks. Just 4 left.
Although it's been a struggle and I feel like I'm neglecting and missing out on a lot of my personal relationships, I just have to say that I absolutely love teaching. When I am at school all day, I enjoy it. I usually don't mind spending 40+ hours a week at my school. I love love love it and I am developing a passion for teaching that I didn't know that I had. I love interacting with my students. They teach me so much and they are so much fun. Seriously, these kids change your life.
Even though I am more than excited to just be done with student teaching, I will have the hardest time leaving these kids. It's gone by so fast and I'm almost there. It's also making me excited to start my career as a teacher because I know it's something that I'll love doing, and I am very lucky to have found something I'll love to do for the rest of my life.
